Every new client starts with a meet-and-greet. It’s a chance for Hope to get to know you and your dog, understand their routine, personality and needs, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first walk or Stay and Play session.

Where do you walk dogs?
We explore lovely local spaces including Southampton Common, Lordswood, local woodland, St James’ Park and Riverside Park. Each route is chosen with your dog’s needs, the weather and their comfort in mind—with time to sniff, explore and enjoy a gentler pace. We serve SO15 and surrounding areas; send Hope your postcode to check coverage.
What does The Mellow Walk include?
The price is £20 for 1.5 hours, with pick up and drop off included. Hope will confirm the walking plan and collection and return timings with you before you book.
What is Stay and Play?
Stay and Play is a one-hour dog sitting session for £20, with one-to-one companionship, suitable play, fresh water and time to settle. Hope will agree the location, routine and care arrangements with you before booking.
Do we meet before the first session?
Yes. Every new client starts with a meet-and-greet so Hope can get to know you and your dog. You’ll discuss their personality, routine, health and any additional needs before arranging their first walk or Stay and Play session.
Is this the right fit for my dog?
Every dog is different. Tell Hope about their age, energy, confidence around other dogs and any care needs. You can then discuss whether the service is a comfortable match and what arrangements would suit them.
How do I arrange a first session?
Email hello@hopeandmellow.com, call 07494 563531, or send Hope a message on Instagram or Facebook. Include your postcode, a little about your dog and your preferred days. Hope will arrange your meet-and-greet and confirm availability and care arrangements directly with you.

A few simple booking terms help us give your dog thoughtful, consistent care.
Pet Care Agreement (opens in a new tab)Meet-and-greet and suitability
A meet-and-greet is required for every new client before a first service. Bookings are subject to availability and a suitable match for your dog’s needs, confirmed directly with Hope.
Your dog’s health and behaviour
Please share any health conditions, allergies, medication requirements, behavioural concerns or handling needs before the first session, and let Hope know about any changes. Any additional care must be discussed and agreed in advance.
Emergency contacts and access
Please provide an up-to-date emergency contact and your dog’s veterinary details. Collection, return, sitting location and any key or access arrangements are agreed before the service begins.
Weather and your dog’s comfort
Routes, pace and arrangements may need to change in unsuitable weather or if your dog is unwell. Hope will discuss any necessary adjustments with you, with your dog’s welfare coming first.
Prices, payment and booking changes
The Mellow Walk is £20 for a 1.5-hour service including pick-up and drop-off. Stay and Play is £20 for a one-hour dog sitting session. Payment arrangements and any cancellation terms will be provided for you to agree before booking. Please contact Hope as soon as possible if your plans change.
